Prepare Matcha Easily
Matcha is more than just a drink – it brings small moments of enjoyment into everyday life. With just a few ingredients and a few simple steps, you can easily prepare matcha at home. Whether pure, with milk or on ice, the base is always quick to make.
What you need
1–2 grams of matcha powder
70–100 ml hot water
Optional: milk or plant-based drink
A bowl or cup
A small whisk or matcha whisk
The right water temperature
It’s important that the water does not boil. The ideal temperature is about 80°C (176°F). If the water is too hot, the matcha may taste bitter. Let freshly boiled water cool down briefly before using it.
Step by step to the perfect matcha
1. Add matcha to the bowl
Place 1–2 grams of matcha powder into a bowl or cup. For an especially smooth result, you can sift the powder beforehand.
2. Add water
Pour a small amount of hot water over the matcha, about 70–100 ml.
3. Whisk the matcha
Whisk the matcha quickly with a matcha whisk or small whisk until the powder is fully dissolved and a light foam forms on top.
4. Refine to taste
You can now enjoy the matcha as it is or add milk, a plant-based drink, ice cubes or a little sweetener to taste.
How to make your matcha even better
For a balanced flavor, pay attention to the right amount of matcha and the correct water temperature. Less water creates a stronger taste, while more water makes it milder. Adding milk or plant-based drinks makes matcha especially smooth and creamy.
