Accessibility statement

We aim to make our online services at the domain www.mac-jeans.com as accessible as possible in accordance with the provisions of the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) and the technical standards on which it is based (in particular, EN 301 549).

Status of compliance with the requirements

The website www.mac-jeans.com is compatible in part with the requirements of BFSG.

Non-accessible content
Despite continuous optimisation, individual aspects of our website might not entirely conform to BFSG. We are working to improve these areas within our technical and economic capabilities.

Barriers due to disproportionate burden
Additionally, there are technical limitations as a result of the shop system we use. In the following areas, adjustments are not possible, or only to a limited degree, at this time:

During the checkout process, the technical architecture of Shopify does not allow us to make direct changes to accessibility. If we notice a barrier at checkout, we will communicate this to the platform operator and attempt to find a solution as promptly as possible.
Third-party apps that are required for shop functions and whose accessibility we take into consideration during the selection process may present barriers during system updates or in dynamic content over which we have no direct influence.

Available accessibility functions
We use the Accessibly app to support individual accessibility. It has a control panel which offers many different functions to facilitate individual use and temporarily compensate for visual barriers (such as contrasts or text sizes), e.g.:

larger cursor
inverting colours, adjusting contrast, brightness and saturation
greyscale mode
keyboard navigation
reducing visual stimuli (e.g. by hiding images)
reading lines and reading mask

Meeting the accessibility requirements

It is our goal to design the online shop of MAC Mode GmbH & Co. KGaA in such a way that it is easily accessible and usable for everyone, regardless of individual limitations.
The shop follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, conformity level AA, to ensure digital participation for all users.

To meet the accessibility requirements, we implement the following measures, among others:

Our website has a logical structure and can be used with screen readers as well as via keyboard navigation.
High contracts, scalable font sizes and sufficiently large buttons facilitate use on different terminals.
Product images and graphic content are supplemented by alternative texts.
As a general rule, content is text-based or supplemented by written alternatives.
The entire shopping process can be completed without using a mouse or touch screen.
No automatically playing animations or flashing elements are used.
User guidance is clearly structured and facilitated through filter functions and intuitive navigation.

Despite great care it is not possible at this time to have all areas of the website fully meet the accessibility requirements. We are continuously working to identify and remove any remaining barriers so as to further improve our website.
