Fashion can mean many things. It can be a way to express our personality, part of our everyday lives or simply the good feeling of choosing exactly the right thing to wear in the morning.

What we wear accompanies us through a wide range of situations: at work, in our free time, while travelling or on special occasions. And it is not only our personal style that changes. Our expectations of clothing evolve too.

For us at MAC, good fashion therefore does not begin with a short-lived trend. It begins with the question of what a garment needs to deliver so that we enjoy wearing it.

How an idea becomes a pair of jeans

Many factors come together in a pair of jeans: cut, material, construction, design and, not least, fit. Only when these elements are carefully coordinated does a product emerge that feels the way it was intended to feel when worn.

The journey involves numerous individual steps. Ideas are developed, patterns are created, materials are selected, prototypes are produced and fits are checked repeatedly.

Our atelier at the company headquarters plays an important role in this process. Designs and samples can be produced, assessed and refined directly on site. Close communication between design, product development and the atelier enables quick coordination throughout the development process.

Sometimes just a few millimetres determine how a pair of jeans fits.

Experience meets new ideas

Fashion changes. Silhouettes become wider or slimmer, materials continue to evolve and new production techniques open up new possibilities.

For us, this means combining existing knowledge with new ideas. Craftsmanship and experience are just as important as looking ahead.
