Great joy in Roßbach (Bavaria): MAC is among the winners of the German Sustainability Award Products 2026 – one of the most important awards for responsible business in Germany.
The innovative “Circular Nettle Jeans” was honored, proving that sustainable fashion can be both modern and deeply rooted in its region.

Nettles instead of cotton – a strong statement for the future

The award-winning jeans are made from nettle fibers, a resource-saving alternative to cotton.
The plant grows without elaborate irrigation and requires very little fertilizer – a clear advantage in times of increasing water scarcity.

Combined with recycled cotton and a circular design, the model stands for MAC’s commitment to consistently unite fashion and responsibility.

Jury praises pioneering work from Bavaria

In its statement, the jury emphasized that MAC “is paving the way for alternative fiber raw materials in the fashion industry” and “demonstrates how resource-efficient fashion production can work in Germany.”

With the Circular Nettle Jeans, MAC proves that innovation and regional roots are not a contradiction but mutually reinforcing strengths.
