MAC is a fashion company that is located near Regensburg. Founded in 1973 as a specialist for women’s and men’s trousers, today MAC is one of the leading trouser manufacturers in Europe. Every year six collections for women and men are developed and successfully placed on the market.
Internationally positioned
MAC is not only present in Germany but also in many international markets. These include Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Spain, Russia, the UK and the USA, among others. The products are sold via brick-and-mortar retail shops, the company’s own online shop and selected marketplaces. Business is complemented by activities in the off-price market.
Product focus
At the centre of all MAC’s activities is the product: trousers. MAC trousers stand for fashion that is in great demand and of supreme quality – with fits that are striking and designs that last. Having its own sewing department at its company headquarters allows MAC to handle the entire development phase directly on site, from design and material research through to product range planning and the first prototype.
Sustainability & engagement
Resource-efficient production is of great importance to MAC and all employees. The company actively participates in numerous initiatives promoting sustainability and works with such organisations as BCI (Better Cotton Initiative), GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and B.A.U.M. Moreover, MAC has been a member of important professional associations and institutions such as German Fashion, the German Fashion Institute (DMI) and Dialog Textil/Bekleidung (DTB).
Flora& fauna
Our extensive company premises amidst the gently rolling hills of the Upper Palatinate Forest form an ideal habitat for many plants and animals. Trees and bushes provide shelter for numerous bird species. The floral meadows surrounding the company building are a colourful sea of flowers during the summer months. With their great species diversity they are a habitat for numerous small animals and insects, such as butterflies, flies, bees and bumblebees. The large site is also home to 20 bee colonies. A beekeeper looks after the beehives that are distributed across the entire site. The bees find plenty of food in the surroundings with their many flowers and in the nearby forests and fields. As pollinators, they sustain our culture and agriculture. The conservation of bats is also of great concern to us. For this reason we have installed bat boxes on trees and under the canopies of the company building. They serve as shelters and valuable quarters for the endangered mammal species.
Code of Conduct
The MAC Code of Conduct comprises the company’s ethical, social and ecological principles. As a guideline it calls for the respectful way of dealing with colleagues within the company and governs the conduct towards business partners, nature, fauna and the environment.
Social engagement
“If we can do something good, we’re always happy to help”, is MAC’s motto. We are aware of our responsibility and want to give part of our success back to society. Therefore we have always supported social institutions and associations financially and with donations in kind at regional and national level. This includes clubs, youth organisations, schools and kindergartens as well as facilities for senior citizens. Additionally we support various charitable associations and cultural organisations. Moreover, we are not only actively involved in environmental protection but also support nature and environmental protection associations financially with donations.
